Mission

LOHF measurably elevates the mental well-being of youth and children in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania.

We do this by providing grants, mental health copay assistance, training, NavWell, and nursing scholarships. Through these programs, we facilitate access, education and coordination of resources to achieve our mission.

Here’s why we do it.

Vision

Our vision is that all children and youth in Lancaster County experience mental well-being.

History

Our roots trace back to the Lancaster Osteopathic Hospital that was founded in 1942. The Community Hospital, as it was known, served as a foundation and trusted teaching facility for osteopathic medical residents. In 1999, the hospital was sold to Health Management Associates and the former hospital foundation was reborn as the Lancaster Osteopathic Health Foundation (LOHF).

What We Do

Advancing Resources for Healthier Outcomes in Lancaster County

We believe all children in Lancaster County deserve a healthy, nurturing childhood, but realize that many encounter mental and behavioral health challenges throughout their lives that threaten their ability to thrive and achieve success. Since 1999, LOHF has been committed to strengthening the mental wellbeing of children and youth in Lancaster County. We achieve this by providing medical professionals, educators, parents and others with the resources they need to be successful.

Today, we steward more than $11,000,000 of community assets directed towards initiatives and programs that will have the largest impact on the health and wellbeing of children in Lancaster County. Our areas of emphasis include:

Our Team

The LOHF team includes a three-person staff charged with setting strategic direction and managing day-to-day operations; and a 12-to-14-person board of directors, who provide direction and expertise in our effort to strengthen the wellbeing of children in Lancaster County.
